Ubuntu 20.04 Cisco Anyconnect Vpn

Summary

Procedure for connecting to Cisco AnyConnect VPN from a CentOS7 installed with Server GUI with KDE option. Probably will work on CentOS7 GNOME desktop option as well (the only difference being what packages are installed by default with these original install options. You might have to install an extra package or two depending on whether your install was minimal, desktop, etc). This should also work on Oracle Linux and Red Hat Linux.

Procedure

This is the procedure. For now I'm just going to paste in the commands from the terminal from the beginning to the connection example.

Ubuntu 20.04 cisco anyconnect vpn connection
  1. I recently have upgraded to Ubuntu 20.04. Everything works fine except that every time I want to connect to a VPN network with openconnect I have to enter My username and It asks me to validate the certificate. I connect to VPN network using a gnome plugin for openconnect: 'network-manager-openconnect-gnome'.
  2. To install FortiClient VPN Client on Ubuntu 20.04/Ubuntu 18.04 or other Ubuntu releases using the DEB binary file, navigate to FortiClient downloads page and grab the DEB binary installer. You can as well simply get the link to the DEB installer and pull it using wget utility tool as follows.
  3. Problem Resolved with windows 10 and Cisco AnyConnect vpn Well the first thing i realised is the problem is with the WSL 2 if u downgrade to WSL 1 (wsl -set-version Ubuntu 1) u dont have any problem with connection.
