The source code of G'MIC is shared between several git repositories with public access. Accessing it via git ensures you get the latest code available, and will ease the source updates as well. Here are the instructions to compile G'MIC on a fresh installation of Debian (or Ubuntu). It should not be much harder for other distros. First you need to install all the required tools and libraries:
Gimp for osx 10.4 free download. ExTiX - The Ultimate Linux System Version 21.2, 21.1, 20.12, 20.8, (five versions - Build 210220, 203, 201205, 200804 and 1. Gimp-Print 4.2.7 is the last stable release of Gimp-Print version 4.2.x for Mac OS X; it includes 225 drivers supporting over 600 printers. The disk-image file includes an OS X installer package, an uninstaller package, plus illustrated documentation to easily guide you through the printer set-up process.
Then, get the G'MIC source from the different repositories:
$ git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/dtschump/CImg.git
$ git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/dtschump/gmic.git
$ git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/c-koi/gmic-qt.git
$ git clone --depth=1 https://github.com/c-koi/zart.git
You are now ready to compile all G'MIC interfaces:
- gmic (command-line tool),
- gmic_gimp_qt (plug-in for GIMP),
- gmic_krita_qt (plug-in for Krita),
- ZArt and
- libgmic (G'MIC C++ library).
Just pick your choice:
$ cd gmic/src
$ make cli # Compile command-line interface
$ make gimp # Compile plug-in for GIMP
$ make krita # Compile plug-in for Krita
$ make lib # Compile G'MIC library files
$ make zart # Compile ZArt
$ make all # Compile all of the G'MIC interfaces
and go out for a long drink (the compilation takes time).
Note that compiling issues (compiler segfault) may happen with older versions of g++ (4.8.1 and 4.8.2). If you encounter this kind of errors, you probably have to disable the support of OpenMP in G'MIC to make it work, by compiling it with:
Also, please remember that the source code in the git repository is constantly under development and may be a bit unstable, so do not hesitate to report bugs if you encounter any.
Please Note
This is the download page for the development version of GIMP.
That means these builds are a work-in-progress. Please proceed with caution because they may be unstable. If a crash does occur, please report it!
If you're looking for the stable GIMP 2.10.24 release instead, you can find it on our downloads page.
Current Development Version

GIMP (development version) for Unix-like systems
We provide a Flatpak development repository on Flathub. This is not a nightly, hence only development releases will be made available (i.e. specific snapshot manually selected, not automatic builds). If there are no development releases, the latest stable release will be provided instead in this repository.
Flatpak build available in: x86-64 and AArch64.
Flatpak additional instructions
If the link above doesn't open your software installer, install with following command:
flatpak install --user https://flathub.org/beta-repo/appstream/org.gimp.GIMP.flatpakref
Run with following command line:
flatpak run org.gimp.GIMP//beta
To update:
flatpak update
Note: If you installed both the stable and beta repositories, the desktop (menus, etc.) will see only one version at a time. To make sure your desktop sees the development version, run this command:
flatpak make-current --user org.gimp.GIMP beta
Or respectively to restore the stable version as the visible GIMP application:
flatpak make-current --user org.gimp.GIMP stable
You may also create shortcuts running specifically one of the other version.
Systems without flatpak support
GIMP can also run on Solaris and is available for the BSD family of systems such as FreeBSD and OpenBSD. Third party development packages may be available for these systems. Please refer to the documentation for your Unix-like system on the installation of software.
Most Unix-like systems make it very easy to install a development environment for building software from source. If you can't find a GIMP package in your distribution's package repository or want to build a more recent GIMP version that what is available there, then see the source code section.
GIMP (development version) for macOS
There is no macOS package yet, sorry. Please check back later.

The download links above will attempt to download GIMP from one of our trusted mirror servers. If the mirrors do not work or you would rather download directly from our server, you can get the direct download here.
These links download the official development GIMP installer for Windows (~100MB). The installer contains the 64-bit version of GIMP.
BitTorrent is a peer-to-peer file sharing system. It works by downloading GIMP from a distributed network of BitTorrent users, and may improve download speed dramatically. Choosing this option will download the torrent file for the GIMP installer. You may need to install a torrent client to make use of this file. Learn more...

Automatic development builds
Automatic builds (sometimes called 'nightlies') are generated at regular intervals by our Continuous Integration process. This allows to run the last version of our code, though it also means you will get possibly very unstable work-in-progress, just as it is made. Therefore ⚠️ be aware that you would be running very experimental code! ⚠️ These builds are meant to test future GIMP versions and help us debug, we do not advise to use these for production.
- Note 1
- These builds are not provided with a fancy installer nor any desktop integration (i.e. no shortcuts in menus, etc.). Just unzip the archive, and double-click gimp.cmd or gimp-2.99.exe files.
- Note 2
- There are still a few known issues such as missing GObject Introspection, i.e. that the Python 3/Javascript/Lua/Vala plug-ins won’t work with this build (yet).

FTP and Web Mirrors
We had a server move a while back that caused us to lose our existing mirrors (moved from physical to virtual server and to an environment that doesn't allow FTP access). On the plus side, we are now able to offer rsync access to download.gimp.org.
If you are running one of the existing GIMP mirrors, or want to create a new one, please contact us to get your rsync credentials.
